I've been working on an debian-edu-artwork package lately, which is
intended to be a collection of images used for branding, and also take
care of automatically insert these images as the default background, splash
screen etc when it is installed. The images I've made are ugly, so someone
with drawing skills need to replace them with something that look nice, but
at least the mechanism to insert images are slowly getting into shape.
The package in in the debian-edu project svn on alioth.
