Postscriptum: 
 
Syslog might be cut off at some point, as it exceeded space of floppy disk. 
Anyway, it displays a time span of about 30 minutes. 
 
Installing kernel 2.4 might get hard without any network (or will I find the 
kernel package on CD?)
