Hi,
as mentioned this only occured to me installing from the skolelinux CD, debian
sarge and ubuntu CDs let me install on md devices just fine. So I didn't put it
in debian's BTS.

Are partman and the manual partitioning from skolelinux two different things?
Are your refering to somthing other than pre05?
Would have to go for another reinstall.
