These should be installed automatically by debhelper (I don't think
the copyright information is compressed, but in any case, debhelper
manages this so you don't have to), as long as you have a
debian/copyright file in your source package.


Thanks to reply but thats not the question : "where go the upstream license files in the Debian packages ?" and I'm not talking about the debian/copyright file but the license files that come with upstream sources like "gnu.txt" for example.
