IIRC, this bug was somehow introduced in the rebuilding of dpkg
1.4.0.33->1.4.0.34 during the extra week before the slink release.
Due to the timing, no further rebuilding was feasible. I presume that
the 1.4.1.x track doesn't have this problem.
