I am pleased to announce that the patches generation is now re-enabled.
We have freed a significant amount of disk space after removing
obsolete files and duplicates.
The cleanup included:
* removing old patches of active derivatives and all the
corresponding dsc and non-dsc parts, lsdiffs and changelogs
* detecting files of packages merged into Debian and replacing
them with symlinks
* removing packages not derived from any Debian package that
are no longer present in any derivative's apt repository
Also patches now have to be kept for a year starting from the day when
they became obsolete. Small patches where the only change is in
debian/changelog will be kept for 3 months. Patches and packages of
inactive derivatives have no expiration date for now and won't be
removed.
Disk usage after generating all actual patches:
/srv/qa.debian.org 554G 439G 89G 84%
