kernel 2.4 and pppd
大家好,
我有些问题想问,之日前 I compiled a new kernel (2.4.18).
(ok fed up with writing in chinese lo)
I have used for a long time the kernel 2.2
the weird thing is that I can't connec to the internet with a 2.4 kernel
usually I use a script to connect to the net e.q.
/usr/sbin/pppd noauth defaultroute modem debug ipcp-accept-remote
ipcp-accept-local idle 180 /dev/ttyS2 115200 connect
"/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/ppp-on-dialer" remotename XXXX
user YYY
with the kernel 2.2.x it works perfectly but with that new kernel,
I have error like these :
pppd[399]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
kernel: ttyS2: LSR safety check engaged!
kernel: ttyS2: LSR safety check engaged!
chat[403]: Can't get terminal parameters: Input/output error
pppd[399]: Connect script failed
pppd[399]: Exit.
I don't know where it comes from ...
doesn't anyone have a brilliant idea ?
now I am using a 2.2 kernel with ext3 patch ... :-/
thanks a lot !

No matter which checkout line you get in, it will always be the
slowest one.
