You see "Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel." as the last

Actually AFAICT this is #735172 which is a kernel bug unrelated to the
recent flash-kernel changes, reassigning and merging.

This issue is being observed even on platforms which have no DTB support
yet (e.g. TS-419). Have you actually tried with an appended DTB and seen
it work or are you speculating?
