Closes: 1042702
Changes:
 rocsparse (5.5.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * New upstream version 5.5.1
   * d/rules: drop gfx1011 architecture from librocsparse0.
     The HIP runtime will fall back to using gfx1010.
   * d/rules: use compressed DWARF 5 debug symbols
   * Fix FTBFS with Sphinx 7.1 by specifying full filepath to local
     copy of MathJax.js (Closes: #1042702).

The switch to compressed DWARF 5 debug symbols reduced the size of librocsparse.so.0.1 from >2 GiB to 786 MiB. I had to disable dh_dwz to use it, but using compressed debug symbols will give us enough space to enable RDNA 3 once HIP and LLVM are updated. The use of the -gsplit-dwarf option that Mo suggested may also be useful. However, I was unclear on what (if anything) I must do in order to ensure that the Debian debug packages continue to work correctly, which is why I opted just to compress the symbols.

Sincerely,
Cory Bloor
