Re: Bug#985666: alsa-utils: no sound after installation

Hi, Setting it to %100 worked but the volume is still lower on the system then on the system with the full desktop installation. Why is this as using the speakup volume keys did not make any change when it was set low?  Nick Gawronski

Ok, no desktop and thus no pulseaudio in the way.

This does not seem muted. Does .wav playing with aplay etc. produce
sound?

37% is a bit low but that should still be audible. I'm surprised by the
value, though, alsa-utils should have set it to 80%. Did you try to use
the speakup shortcuts to raise the volume? You can also try to use

amixer -c 0 set PCM 90%

to directly set it to 90%
