Which lines did you remove?

Not really, scrolling is awfully slow on ECS with 16 colors. But okay,
since this doesn't seem to be a bug I'll just set the depth with
fbset. Or perhaps I can figure out how to set the default depth to 1
and compile the kernel myself.

Well, I don't know much about kernel programming yet. But if I find
some time, I will try to solve this.
