Thanks a lot for this analysis, Richard. It allowed me to understand
much better the overall situation. Also, basing the overview on
percentage of DC12, I managed to (I hope) clear a bit the fog in front
of my eyes and get a better grasp on reality :)
While it's still basically impossible to forecast the amount we will
be getting, I expect we will be able to make between the 150% and 200%
brackets you mention — Still too little to be happy and relax, but
definitively enough for a better, productive work.
I know some people have argued on specific points for your first set
of numbers, but it makes sense for me to put it anyway in a table for
visual comparison. I assume the 46 unsponsored people you mention in
your one week option mean the people you expect to pay prof/corp.
2WK-LC 1WK-LC 2WK-IL
100% 45 person/weeks 40+100 people 120 person/weeks (40+80)
0 travel 10KCHF travel 0 travel
150% 100 person/weeks (50+100) 40+150 people 225 person/weeks (50+175)
0 travel 30KCHF travel 0 travel
200% 150 person/weeks (50+150) 60+280 people 250 person/weeks (50+200)
20KCHF travel 30KCHF travel 20KCHF travel
250% 230 person/weeks (75+200) 100+300 people 305 person/weeks (75+230)
30KCHF travel 30KCHF travel 30KCHF travel
300% 355 person/weeks (100+300) 100+300 people 355 person/weeks (100+300)
30KCHF travel 30KCHF travel 30KCHF travel
Just as a note, I am not sure the numbers mean the same — Your amounts
for DebCamp+DebConf people don't sum up to the person/weeks while
Daniel's do. But lets pretend the discrepancy is not there.
So, as it has been discussed, lower sponsorship makes more flexibility
more needed.
So, in short: In the specific 150-200% range, for a two week long
conference, Interlaken basically allows us 100 person/weeks more with
the rest being approximately equal.
(damn, I wanted to write a bit more... but I have to go now. Anyway,
I'll continue catching up with this huge backlog in a couple of hours
- And will probably remember what I wanted to say :-/ )
